Thank you for reinforcing the need for a solid anchor and for reminding folks that Bishop Andrewes and our existing tradition already provide exceptional resources on this point. That being said, it might help if every meeting of every global Anglican entity did not issue a slightly different formulation of the anchor you've cited. Article I of the ACNA Constitution contains the seven "Fundamental Declarations of the Province" and should be read by all within ACNA and even those ACNA-adjacent folks in the Continuum et al.
As always brother, well thought out and well written. My only suggestion would be that I think the Formularies should be a central part of the anchor. To me, they outline a distinctive Anglican ethos needed today.
Definitely my intent, hence the rinse and repeat on Canon A5 and its reception by GAFCON and GSFA. If that wasn’t front and center - that’s on me for poor articulation! I love how Canon A5, GSFA Covenant, and the Jerusalem Statement centers on Scripture as received by the ancient Church and then pivots to state “In particular, such doctrine is to be found in the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion, the Book of Common Prayer and the Ordinal.”
